Two CIS Thrift Shops Receive Golden Pineapple Awards for Excellence in Customer Service

In Spring and Fall of 2023, the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce solicited nominations from the community to recognize local businesses that provide outstanding customer service. Two of the CIS Thrift Shops were honored to receive Golden Pineapple Awards as a result!
The Boiling Spring Lakes and Southport thrift shops were both recognized for their friendly and engaging shopping atmospheres and the overall shopping experience they provide. Lead Managers Kim Jones from the Boiling Spring Lakes shop (pictured along with BSL Assistant Manager Debbie Chirdon) and Nancy Kennedy from the Southport shop happily received their recognition awards to display in their shops. We congratulate them and their teams of both paid staff and volunteers for standing out in our community as exemplary non-profit businesses. The CIS Thrift Shops help raise unrestricted revenue to sustain and grow our programs operating in Brunswick County Schools that support students and work to keep them in school, focused on learning, and working toward graduation.

For more information about our shop locations and hours of operation, visit the Thrift Shop section of this website or contact Emily Luther, Development Director, at eluther@cisbrunswick.org or at (910) 351-8007.
