Hank – Shallotte Middle School
Hank Orejuela, Shallotte Middle School CIS Spanish/English language helper, volunteers several hours a week. Helping students with Spanish to English mostly in reading and understanding, but also tutors in math and science. He has been a SMS CIS volunteer for about 4 years and got into tutoring kids through the Kiwanis Club. The students are at a good point in their life to be influenced and a positive influence can change their life. “I have other community involvements, but this is the most important thing I’m doing, period. Changing lives.”
