CIS encourages students to keep going

My name is Maddie and I was a student at Leland Middle School. I just finished 8th grade and have been at LMS since 6th grade. At open house my parents sighed me up for math tutoring and I thought I would hate it, but then I met Mrs Thompson, CIS Success Coach at LMS. She is such a nice and supportive person and has helped me throughout my three years at LMS whether it’s snacks or family issues, she has been with me throughout everything. In 6th grade I didn’t really know much about math and came in thinking it was hopeless and that I was going to flunk everything. Mrs. Thompson and CIS gave me the hope and courage to keep going and keep trying. The CIS Action for Success program has been very helpful with my grades and my actions. Without CIS and Mrs. Thompson I wouldn’t be here today and honestly don’t know where I would be. The program taught me to believe in myself and have self-confidence. As long as I live, I will never forget what she and the CIS Action for Success program did for me.
