Meeting Student and Family Needs Through Collaboration and Partnership

CIS Program Director Drew Jordan partnered with the Brunswick County Schools Nutrition Department to help a caseload family access the resources they needed to sustain their family over the summer months to ensure that no family goes hungry.
Through this amazing partnership, we were able to provide nutritious meals to a family in need throughout the summer break. These meals not only filled bellies but also brought smiles and relief to the children being served. Mr. Jordan picked up and delivered the meals daily to the family in need. They were able to receive both breakfast and lunch daily through the Brunswick County Schools Summer Nutrition Program, with the school districit allowing CIS to pick up the meals on behalf of the family.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who played a part in making this partnership a success, from the dedicated Brunswick County Schools cafeteria staff to the hardworking staff at Communities In Schools. Their commitment and compassion have made a tangible difference in the lives of a family in our community.
